Eynsham Village News

Ancient and Modern 7 Aug 2023 A smarter way to enjoy your walks, with an app on your phone for a guide

Have you tried the Eynsham Tree Walk - or the Abbey Heritage Trail? These perennial favourites in our Recreation feature have been gently eased into the 21st century by Alan Craft. And his latest guide is Wharf Stream Way.

So now the choice is yours for Eynsham Abbey Heritage Trail...

Eynsham Tree Walk Eynsham Tree Walk, guided by Sarah Couch last summer, supplied the inspiration for this new series. Alan’s Tree of the Day has been a fixture for years, on Twitter and now on Instagram. Click on the thumbnail image when you’re ready for an illustrated satnav-type experience.

Continuing thanks to Martin Flatman for his original directions (see download below) and photo map.

Wharf Stream Way is (a little) more challenging, at 2.5 miles from the Market Square - unless you pick it up at the edge of Hazeldene Close - and 50% of that off-road. But the views and the echoes from history, reinforced by original artworks, will surely make the venture worth while.
