Flood Alert - be prepared 26 Nov 2024 River Evenlode (Moreton in Marsh to Cassington) and River Glyme (Wootton and Woodstock)

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high but falling slowly on the River Evenlode following heavy rainfall from Storm Bert. Therefore, flooding of low lying land, roads, and property is expected to continue today, 26/11/24, especially in the Evenlode Bridge, Shipton under Wychwood, Ascott under Wychwood, and Woodstock areas.

The forecast for today is mainly dry with further rain tonight into tomorrow. River levels are expected to continue to fall very slowly through today, but may rise again in response to tonight's rainfall. Our staff have been checking and clearing trash screens and we are monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow, 27/11/24, or as the situation changes.
