Are We Prepared? 7 Feb 2026 Community Resilience and a Community Emergency Plan for Eynsham

As we see the fields around Eynsham flooding after recent rain (thank you floodplains!), or breathe sighs of relief that recent big winter storms passed by without extreme impacts in the village, we know that storms, floods or other unexpected events can and do happen.

With this in mind, it's a good idea to keep some useful essentials at home if possible (e.g. non-perishable food, bottles of water, torches, a battery/wind-up radio). And, following agreement at December's Parish Council meeting, a small group of Eynsham residents is starting to work on a Community Emergency Plan for Eynsham.

The aim is to develop a simple plan which helps identify local resources and how we might coordinate with emergency services in response to an unexpected emergency or disruptive event like flooding, or a major incident.

We will be holding a first meeting in the Village Hall on Friday 13 February, from 13.30 (for 13.40 start)-15:00.

We would love to hear from interested individuals or groups who would like to get involved, and/or who have ideas about useful resources, skills etc. Please do reach out to the team on: eynshamcommunityresilience@gmail.com.
