Our County Council has set out its proposal for a single unitary council for Oxfordshire, in response to government devolution plans.
‘We believe a single unitary council for Oxfordshire will create stronger, simpler services that are closer to communities, cost effective and connected.’
They are asking local residents for their views.
‘Your views will help inform our final proposal, alongside those of businesses, institutions and investors whom we are engaging separately... The final proposal needs to be submitted to government by 28 November 2025.’
This is one of three proposals for local government reorganisation in Oxfordshire. Read the background. Consultation closes on 27 July.
