Specialist consultants commissioned by West Oxfordshire District Council have examined how the proposed Carterton-Witney-Oxford Rail Corridor could affect travel, the environment, housebuilding and the economy.
Their study concludes that rail could ease A40 congestion, support new housing and job access, and help the district meet its net zero carbon targets. It highlights strong value for money, with benefits more than twice the cost of the scheme.
‘... [it] wouldn’t just improve how people travel; it could transform how we grow as a district.’
