Are you ready for a marvellous, splendiferous and mischievous reading challenge this summer?
From 16 July to 17 September children across Oxfordshire can celebrate 100 years of the world’s greatest storyteller Roald Dahl with The Big Friendly Read, Summer Reading Challenge 2016.
Children will be encouraged to read at least six library books of their choice over the summer holidays. There will be six stupendous Quentin Blake illustrated cards to collect - some are even smelly! Complete the challenge and they’ll get their own medal and certificate. Join up at Eynsham library. It’s fun! It’s free! It’s local!
Friday 22 July ‘Big Friendly Bedtime Read’ 18:00-18:45. 0-7 year olds accompanied by a parent/carer (big brothers and sisters always welcome). Come to the Library in your pyjamas with your favourite bedtime teddy to hear some favourite stories and bedtime songs.
Friday 5 August - Dogs Trust Storytime Join us in the afternoon for animal stories led by a special storyteller from the Dogs Trust charity.
Tuesday 23 August ‘Big Friendly Revolting Read’ 10:30-11:30. 5-10 year olds. Come for wacky stories, facts and food inspired by the greatest storyteller Roald Dahl.
Saturday 17 September- Summer Reading Challenge Medal Ceremony 13:15. If you’ve finished the Reading Challenge come along to collect your medal, certificate and a biscuit or two!
