The Night Sky in June!

This is not intended to be comprehensive - it is a quick guide to help you find a few things in the night sky without any equipment - just your eyes.

All of these are very bright and easy to find when walking around the village.

The planets

  • Mars and Venus can be seen this month. Venus and Mars are looking impressive in the sky. These planets can be seen easily at sunset as they appear to be the first stars.
  • Saturn and Jupiter is now eary morning objects very low at sunrise in the east - they will be hard to see.

The full Moon is on the 4th.

There are no well placed International Space Station passes (ISS) this month.

I have made the following charts to help you find: -

  • Phases of the Moon
  • Features on the Moon
  • How to find North
  • Constellations Cassiopiea and Cygnus
  • Moon, Mars and Venus
  • Jupiter and Saturn
