The Night Sky this July! 30 Jun 2022 What to look out for in the night sky in July from Eynsham.

The Night Sky in July!

This is not intended to be comprehensive - it is a quick guide to help you find a few things in the night sky without any equipment - just your eyes.

All of these are very bright and easy to find when walking around the village. As the days get longer the nights get shorter you have to stay out later or get up earlier.

Look out for the Super Moon on the 13th - meaning - Super, it is closest to us and up to 14% bigger - also there is a meteor shower with 1 every 3 minutes or so

I have made the following charts to help you find: -

  • The phases of the Moon
  • Meteor shower
  • Brightest Space Station pass
  • The visible planets - early morning but starting be seen in evening
