The Coronavirus pandemic can affect anyone's health, wellbeing or circumstances. In response to these challenges, over 500 villagers have come forward to offer assistance to their neighbours. This network of ‘Eynsham Heroes’ - working in partnership with the Eynsham Good Neighbour Network and the Eynsham Food Bank - provides help with shopping, prescription collection, and running errands for the vulnerable, the elderly, the shielding, or the self-isolating members of our community.
There are 10 neighbourhood heroes networks covering every street in Eynsham. Each neighbourhood group is administered by a volunteer who communicates and coordinates calls for assistance in their immediate area.
In the long term we hope that these groups can continue and allow villagers to collaborate on anything, be it child care, dog walking, street parties... we shall see!
