Eynsham’s Railway Returns! Well, a smaller version of it.
Given the enthusiasm generated by our temporary exhibition, Eynsham’s Lost Railway, and the fact that some people were unable to visit last year, Eynsham Museum has decided to re-open the doors of the Bartholomew Room for a further two months. The working model will again be on display, along with the video of the last passenger train to take the journey from Eynsham to Fairford in 1962, artefacts from Eynsham Station and a display illustrating the beginnings of the Witney line in 1861 to the closure by the GWR in 1970.
The exhibition will start on Saturday 23 March 2024 and run through to 27 May, Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays, 11am to 4pm. We look forward to seeing new and returning visitors alike. We are hoping to put on an exhibition on Eynsham’s Rural Past in the summer and autumn and if you would like to contribute to our displays, please contact the Museum direct or via info@eynshammuseum.org.uk .
Our website is eynshammuseum .org .uk.
The museum is run by volunteers and free to visitors but donations are very welcome to help the charity pay its bills and plan for the future.
