Sunnyside was built in the mid-1960s, and is now deemed to fall below the high standards Cottsway customers deserve and expect. Cottsway have worked closely with the former residents of Sunnyside and found them alternative housing that best suits their needs.
They now plan to redevelop the site and are considering:
- demolishing the existing building and one associated garage, and:
- building 19 new, modern one and two-bedroom apartments for social rent for local people aged over 55.
The proposals include associated parking, mobility scooter and bike storage for the properties, solar panels, air source heat pumps to provide heating and hot water and electric vehicle charging points.
Before they submit a planning application to West Oxfordshire District Council, Cottsway are inviting people to give their views and have written to nearby residents to keep them informed.
Due to the planning process, no timeframes have been determined for this redevelopment work yet, but you can see the illustrations and plans for the proposed building and give your feedback online before Wednesday 28 January 2026. All comments received will be considered and, if requested, Cottsway will respond to you directly.
