Eynsham Ukuleles was formed in 2014 and has around 20 members. Whilst we play mainly for our own pleasure, we do play gigs, when requested, at local functions, nursing homes, etc.
No previous experience is necessary - you don't even have to own a uke but as it is still the fastest-selling instrument in UK, and you can pick up a new one for as little as £20, you may not be able to resist getting one and joining in. While the miniature, four-string model is the most often seen, there is a tenor more like a half-size guitar, and even a bass, surprisingly small, which gets its deep tones from very thick nylon strings and a little amplifier.
We are always looking for new members, both beginners and experienced players and we pride ourselves on giving newcomers encouragement and informal tuition.
