‘Designing it on graph paper initially, Liz Mosson methodically worked out the spacing and where illustrations could be. Taking many months to complete, she has achieved an important piece of what would have been described in the past as Folk Art, by portraying history and the sense of emotions ranging from the sad and desperate to the hopeful (even some humour). The banner measures 175cm in length. Liz finished this outstanding piece of needlework, including late appendages (with words such as Omicron) at the beginning of December. Liz says inevitably there would be more additions, but a decision had to be made, for its completion. It is not for sale, but is a dedication made by Liz herself and needed to be seen by the community. What better place to show it than the Eynsham Art Window, where visitors can stay as long as they like to view the piece in its entirety.
‘Admire the full effect in this video, if you can’t make the window display.’
