Peace Oak Association - Members

Members are encouraged to participate in the work of the Peace Oak Association. This can cover a broad range of activities including

• Planting
• Grafting
• Weeding
• Tending the vines
• Woodworking
• Making fruit juices
• Helping at socials
• BBQing
• Supporting other users
• Cataloguing and labelling plants
• Encouraging wildlife and the biodiversity of the site

Members Events

We plan to have three members events each year, in addition to an Open day, with a mixture of food, drink, games, singing, fire and friendship.

Field Days

We normally have regular Field Days (work parties) which will be advertised here when scheduled. They normally take place every 2nd Saturday in a month from 11:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m.

We also schedule random mid-week ones for the benefit of those who cannot make the weekends. 

If you cannot make one of these work parties members should feel free to go to the Peace Oak at any time - there is also work that can be done or simply the space to enjoy.

Jobs that always need doing

a) Weeding the beach hedge on the boundary with Cobbetts Close.

b) Raking up the mowings if field has recently been mowed. This is part of our long term project to reduce the fertility of the grass areas to support more wild flowers.

c) Weeding the fruitful hedge and mulching with the rakings.
