Eynsham Car Scheme

Are you wondering how you will get to a health care appointment you have been given? Is there no-one available to help? Using a team of volunteer drivers, we can offer village residents transport not only for GP and hospital visits, but for physiotherapy, dentistry, optician services and more.

Older village residents are the ones who need to use our services most. Some become regulars who get to know our volunteer drivers well. But people at all stages of life sometimes need our help. We can step in when family, friends and neighbours are not available.

You can call and leave a message at any time. Our volunteer co-ordinators will answer your call when they can during working hours on weekdays, but messages are checked regularly and we will get back to you at the earliest opportunity. Do ring as soon as you know you are going to need help - that way you can be more sure we can find a driver for you.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP?

There is no regular commitment to make. You just read the email list of journeys needed each time it comes out and only reply if there is a journey you can offer. Adding more drivers who can do even one drive a month would mean we don't have to turn down people who need our help.

• My husband can’t drive now and I never learned. What a blessing we can pick up the phone when those appointment letters come.
