Ros started stained glass 19 years ago after she took her Mum to a weekend course at Bartholomew School. She enjoyed the experience so much, she carried on doing this in a spare room in her house in Dovehouse Close. After doing several school fayres and selling very well, she expanded and gained a commission for a gentleman in Mayfair London for his restaurant and nightclub. Making a 6' panel in a tiny spare room was a challenge, but she finished it and was asked to make a further panel for him as well as 40 candle holders.
Glass fusing came on the scene when she was given a Paragon Fusion 8 glass kiln. It took 5 years to switch it on as she was so scared of it! Once it was switched on, she was hooked.
Ros moved her workshop to a small building in Crawley Mill in 2014 which she outgrew fairly quickly. When 6 Swan Street came up for rent the business moved and expanded. She even did an exhibition with her sister, Patricia Bullen-Whatling, who has a degree in fine art, at the Grand Theatre Swansea - "Fusion - Where Art and Glass Come Together" in 2015.
Due to personal and family reasons, Rosalind moved her studio back home and continues to make stained and fused glass at home, but no longer offers extensive tuition. However, the Fused Glass Art Experience is available and can be run in at your own venue, including your own home.
