Youth Football Teams 2023/24 6 Sep 2023 Eynsham AFC are proud to announce the formation of further new youth football teams this season. U5s, U6s, U7s and U8s.

We are excited to be expanding the primary age section of Eynsham Football Club again this season. I am James Clark and I coach our U7s team and we're thrilled to be able to offer U5s, U6s, U7s and U8s sessions for our young footballers this season.

Nationally youth football is exploding due to the recent successes of the mens and womens national teams getting to finals and semi finals in major tournaments. This is a great time to be involved in grassroots football!

We are looking forward to seeing existing players back at our first session in September and to new players who will be joining for the first time. Before the new season gets under way there are some important details below so please read carefully and complete forms where necessary.

-------------------------------------------------

1. AGE GROUPS
Our youngest players U5s and U6s train on a Sunday. Our U7s and U8s play in the Oxford Youth League on a Saturday and train on a Monday, these teams are coached by FA qualified coaches, Eynsham residents and parents to team players James Clark (U7s) and Richard John (U8s). To find out which age group your player will play with see the table below.

Age on 31st August 2023

4 - U5s - School Year Reception

5 - U6s - School Year 1

6 - U7s - School Year 2

7 - U8s - School Year 3

2. VENUE, DAY, TIME.
U5s and U6s train at Eynsham AFC, Oxford Rd, Eynsham, this is on the park not the pavilion side of the road. Sessions will be held: on a Sunday morning, the start time is 10am, the session length will be 60minutes and the finish time will be 11am.

U7s and U8s train on a Monday evening at Eynsham AFC, Oxford Rd, Eynsham or Bartholomew School on the Multi-Use-Games-Area on a Monday evening. These teams play fixtures on a Saturday morning at 10am.

3. ENROLMENT AND SUBS
All U5 and U6s players will need to enrol their details with us on this electronic form, click here to complete. U5s and U6s parents need to also sign up for a FAN number via the FA, details are on the form and it is very easy to do. All U7 and U8 players must contact the team coaches directly as we have maximum squad numbers. For U7s contact James Clark on eynsham72@gmail.com for U8s contact Richard John on rich_john50@hotmail.com to see if there is space for your player.

A form must be completed before U5 and U6 players come for a session. We need to make sure we have details for all players and medical information is accurate.

U5s and U6s pay a one off payment for the season and this is £35 per player. Regardless if players join part way through a season the subscription for the 23/24 season is £35. Payments can be made via Apple Pay or with credit or debit card here. Players coming for the first time will be able to come to a taster session without charge and would then need to decide if they would like to continue and at this point the subscription fee would be due.

U7s and U8s pay a one off payment for the season of £100 per player. The Coaches listed above will provide specific information on how to make payments before the deadlines.

5. EQUIPMENT AND SAFETY
It will be a requirement for all players attending to wear shin pads as safety equipment. Footwear would ideally be football boots but a sports appropriate trainer will also be acceptable. Heading in training has now been completely removed for all players aged in the primary education phase of grassroots football by the FA. We will not teach or encourage heading at this age and would advise this does not take place in the home either.

6. ADULTS
The football club is run by a fantastic group of volunteers. Would you like to dust your football boots off and get involved with our coaching sessions? If yes, then contact James Clark on eynsham72@gmail.com and more details can be provided. Without adults that assist in the delivery of our football sessions we cannot continue to offer the opportunity for new young players to get involved in football in the village year on year. Getting involved is good fun and better than just watching on from the sidelines. We look forward to hearing from you.

7. EYNSHAM KIT
There will be the opportunity to purchase Eynsham AFC branded Kit during the course of season. More details will be provided in the Autumn to Winter training schedule. The club colours are black and white.

-------------------------------------------------

Our information flyer for the coming season is attached. This will soon be up and around in the village, as well as being issued through the primary school and surrounding schools. You will also see this being posted on Eynsham social media groups but we ask you to spread the word also. We really need your assistance in letting others know about Eynsham football as well as getting parents willing to be involved in the sessions. Our whole set up is very much a community team approach.

Welcome to the football club. It is an exciting time to be part of the growing junior section.
