A few weeks ago I was handed an enormous knitted blanket for Gatehouse. It was made by Beryl Dennington, known to most people in the village as either Granny or Mrs Dennington.
She is 104 and had been knitting the blanket since she was 102. She and her family have been regular supporters of Gatehouse.
When the Rotarians called for the donations I asked them to let Gatehouse know that the blanket was made by a lady of 104. The Rotarians passed back to me a message that Gatehouse would put the blanket on display until it was needed in the winter.
Next collection
We are not collecting in August as our Sunday falls during the annual closure of Gatehouse. Our next collection day is 29 September.
