I had the pleasure of meeting two of the ladies involved in the running of the Drop In. (Christine Batts and Jenny Howard). Also part of the team are Chris Ashmore and Joan Northcott.
This is held at St Leonard's Church Hall every Friday 10:30-12:00 and is open to anyone who would like to pop in for a chat, cuppa and slice of cake.
It is hugely popular (running for over 30 years) and not unheard of for them to have 40-50 people on average call in on any given Friday.
Everyone is welcome so don't be shy, don't walk on by, drop in to see them and say hi. :-)
A great way to stay connected with friends that you might not be able to meet up with any other time and of course to make new ones.
Refreshments provided are tea/coffee and cake, all for the very reasonable price of £1. The cakes are usually homemade by Jenny and Mary (Evans) and I hear they are delicious.
They recognise certain events in the calender each year e.g. Easter, providing a little something Easter related and Christmas time putting on a little buffet (free of charge).
