Do you work from home? Do you have a part-time job? Have you got just a little more time now the children are in school? Perhaps you have decided to join a gym in 2026 or to take on the challenge of 1000 steps a day. But it is not too late to add one more resolution this January.
Signing up as an Eynsham Car Scheme Driver means looking at your emails regularly and volunteering once in a while for one of the requests for drives from people who have no other way to get to their health care appointments. And the more drivers we can add to the list, the fewer the demands on everyone.
What does it entail if you are selected for a drive? You ring the client, check details and arrange a pick-up time. Some jobs can be very quick – there are people who just can’t manage to get to Eynsham Medical Centre. Others jobs are predictable – 30 minutes for podiatry in Witney is a frequent one. Drivers take work, reading matter even knitting with them on trips to Oxford hospitals where the wait time can be very uncertain.
We pay expenses. We help with the challenges of parking and are on hand for any queries.
