In May 1984, a group of ladies of Eynsham WI decided to set up a WI Market to sell their home baked and home grown produce and the rest, as they say, is history. In 1989 the market was joined by crafters selling hand crafted items and in 1995 the WI split from Country Markets so that we became Eynsham Country Market. Since then we have gone from strength to strength. Although originally in the Church Hall, we were forced to begin trading outside during the Covid pandemic but this has helped us to expand and offer more locally sourced produce for our customers. To celebrate our 40th year of trading we are holding a special market on Saturday 18th May from 9.30am until 12pm in the Square where we will be selling freshly baked items, many of which are included in a special cook book to mark the occasion. The cook book will be available to buy at our special market for £6.00, thereafter copies will cost £6.50, so why not pop down and pick up your copy on the 18th May? There will also be lots of home grown plants for sale and and craft gazebo filled with locally made cards, knitted items, sewn children's clothes and gifts, jewellery and much more. There will be a celebration cake for customers to enjoy and tea and coffee will be available from the Bartholomew Room.
