Last night 8th Feb Eynsham women played their second game in the 2019-20 indoor league against Oxenford CC.
When we entered the 2019-20 indoor league we had no idea the games would be played on a Saturday night. It’s fair to say no one was particularly taken with this day or time but it has turned out well for the team. Last night we were again able to put out a strong team coming out on top in an exciting game.
The format of the indoor game is 16 overs per side. Batting in pairs each pair face 4 overs, the team with the highest score when everyone has batted wins.
With Oxenford CC batting first it was up to the bowlers and fielders to do their work. Some excellent bowling was helped by a superb fielding display and the opposition were restricted to 93 runs. Pick of the bowlers were Oona, Karen, Nic and Ella but everyone bowled well.
So now it’s time to see what “The Shammers” batting line up can do and they certainly did not disappoint. Their total run score was 151 and importantly the team did not lose a single wicket. Pick of the batting:- Martine, Andrea and Julia who were well supported by the rest of the team.
Well done to the women who now go top of the league.
