Bus travel on Park & Ride vehicles are free from today, for an initial three-month trial period.
Up to two adults and three children with a valid parking ticket for any of the five Park & Ride sites located around the city can obtain a free return ticket to any Oxford destination by showing their ticket to the bus driver.
The tickets will be valid on any Stagecoach, Oxford Bus Company or Thames Travel bus that visits an Oxford park and ride site, not just named park and ride services.
Oxfordshire County Council is funding this from the temporary congestion charge, which started today.
Other service enhancements
Thames Travel’s H2 service will improve its peak time frequencies and weekend timetable from 9 November.
As County Councillor Dan Levy points out, "It is still better to use the bus directly from Eynsham, whether going to the JR, Summertown or Headington (H2) or into Oxford (S1 and S2). And MyBusOxford gives a day’s unlimited travel in Oxfordshire on all the operators for £6.50 for an adult."
