Energy saving news for winter! 13 Nov 2023 (GreenTEA) Will Salt Cross be zero carbon? Will Eynsham lead the way? Train as an energy champion! Save energy this winter. Will Salt Cross be built to zero carbon energy standards? Look out for the results of the legal challenge of the Planning Inspectors’ decision to disallow net zero policies for new homes and energy generation at Salt Cross ‘garden village’. The hearing will be held in London’s High Court on November 14th and 15th and GreenTEA members will be there. Will you help Eynsham lead the way? Our full Community Action Plan for zero carbon energy (CAPZero) is the first of its kind in the UK and the full report will be published soon. We are very excited about the next stage of implementation. We are looking for people in Eynsham and surrounding villages to get involved in the next phase which will involve pilot projects in the community. To reach net zero targets our energy plan expects new development to be built to the highest energy efficiency and generate its own clean energy, so we are watching the Salt Cross decision very closely. To get involved: contact details on the GreenTEA home page. Read the summary and presentation slides on the Low Carbon Hub website and Energy Systems Catapult Case study Train to be an energy champion!
