Still a Good Time to Go by Bus 1 Jul 2024 (Eynsham Village) The £2 single fare scheme closed on 30 June but other great offers are available

The Government funded £2 single fare scheme (as part of Help for Households) closed on 30 June but there are still good reasons to go green. 

The new Stagecoach SX Carterton - Oxford service, calling at The Evenlode, runs direct to the City Centre Monday-Friday at peak times.

First and Last MileRoute 411/418 (First and Last Mile) - Hanborough station - Freeland - Eynsham - Stanton Harcourt - Standlake runs Monday-Friday, every two hours from 07:00-19:00.

DATELINE 02/12/2023: Sunday single fares in December are capped at £1, thanks to new government funding, and a countywide day ticket valid for all operators is under consideration. Read more.

Stagecoach adjusted all our timetables from 26 November to reflect journey times more accurately. A school holiday timetable has been added for the H2 Eynsham – Summertown – JR Hospital – Brookes University route.

The popular E1 Eynsham – Botley – Osney Island service now runs every 20 minutes on weekdays and half-hourly on Saturday.

DATELINE 30/10/2023: The £2 bus fare cap now runs until December 2024 and there are further bargains to be had...

  • The Oxford Tube now links London and West Oxfordshire (skirting Oxford) Monday-Friday, leaving The Evenlode at 0558 0632 0712 and 0842. Just the thing for another shopping trip :-) View the timetable.
  • The extended £2 bus fare cap includes all buses serving Eynsham except the new Oxford Tube.

DATELINE 17/05/2023: The government plans to provide a further £300m so that bus operators can continue to cap single bus fares outside of London at £2 until the end of October, saving passengers money and encouraging more people back on the bus. With the average single local bus ticket costing £2.80, passengers can save almost a third of the ticket price.

For comparison, the Stagecoach single fare from Eynsham to Oxford is currently £3.30 for adults, while a return costs £5.70. If you need to chop and change, however, it's probably still worth checking the Oxford Plus DayRider (currently £5.50).
