The Night Sky in June!

This is not intended to be comprehensive - it is a quick guide to help you find a few things in the night sky without any equipment - just your eyes.

All of these are very bright and easy to find when walking around the village. As the days get longer the nights get shorter you have to stay out later or get up earlier.

Look out for the Super Moon and the Moon illusion on the 14th - meaning - Super, it is closest to us and up to 14% bigger and Illusion, optical illusion making you think that it is bigger - info below.

I have made the following charts to help you find: -

  • The Moon Illusion
  • The phases of the Moon
  • The visible planets - These are very low and early morning
  • Constellation Boötes
  • Brightest Space Station pass
