Youth Football Teams 2022/23 5 Sep 2022 (Eynsham Association Football Club) Eynsham AFC are proud to announce the formation of new U5 and U6 as well as U7 football sections for boys and girls.

We are excited to be expanding the primary age section of the Football Club this season.

After the success of the England Men's Team in the Euros in 2021 we started Youth Football in the village again after a 6 year absence with an U5's section. After the success of the England Women's Team in the Euros this summer which are expanding further and last year's U5s will become U6s and we are starting new U5s and U7s as well as welcoming boys and girls to play alongside each other.

We are looking forward to seeing existing players back at our first session in September and to new players who will be joining for the first time. Before the new season gets under way there are some important details given below so please read carefully and complete details where necessary.

1. DAY, TIME, VENUE
Training will take place at Eynsham AFC, Oxford Rd, Eynsham, OX29 4BS this is on the park not the pavilion side of the road. Sessions will be held: on a Sunday morning, the start time is 10am, the session length will be 60minutes and the finish time will be 11am.

2. AGE GROUPS
It is our plan to train all of the age groups simultaneously on a Sunday at 10am. James the designated Manager for U6s with his coaching assistant Ollie will be looking to parents of the new sections to come forward to assist with the U5s and U7s. The U6 team will ultimately hold responsibility for the planning and delivery of the session for all age groups as FA qualified coaches, including equipment and first aid but, as numbers grow assistants for the U5s and U7s will be essential. If you feel you could help on a Sunday do get in touch, the commitment would be one hour on a Sunday morning wearing sportswear and a pair of football boots or trainers.

3. ENROLMENT AND SUBS
All players will need to enrol their details with us, in the first instance please email eynsham72@gmail.com for further information. This initial contact must be made before a player comes for a session. We need to make sure we have details for all players and medical information is accurate. The club has decided that the subs required by players for the coming season will not be due weekly on a pay and play basis but as a one off payment for the season and this will be £35 per player. Regardless if players join part way through a season the subscription for the 22/23 season is £35. Further details will be provided for electronic payments to be made to enrolled players. Players coming for the first time will be able to come to a taster session without charge and would then need to decide if they would like to continue and at this point the subscription fee would be due.

4. CALENDAR
All of the sessions for the coming season have been planned of which there are 35 and they are listed below:
September 11th 18th 25th
October 2nd 9th 16th
November 6th 13th 20th 27th
December 4th 11th 18th
January 8th 15th 22nd 30th
February 5th 26th
March 5th 12th 19th 26th
April 16th 23rd 30th
May 7th 14th 21st
June 11th 18th 25th
July 2nd 9th 16th

5. EQUIPMENT AND SAFETY
It will be a requirement for all players attending to wear at least shin pads as safety equipment where previously it was only advised. Footwear would ideally be football boots but a sports appropriate trainer will also be deemed acceptable footwear. Heading in training has now been completely removed for all players aged in the primary education phase of grassroots football by the FA. We will not teach or encourage heading at this age and would advise this does not take place in the home either.

With the expansion of the football club, if you are aware of any boy or girl who would like to play football next season or at least would like to come along and give it a try please do pass them James' contact email details so we can arrange for them to have a tryout session.

We really need your assistance in spreading the word about Eynsham football as well as encourging parents willing to get involved in the session.

Welcome to the football club. It is an exciting time to be part of the growing junior section.

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

To sign up or for more information please contact James on eynsham72@gmail.com
