Andrew Kirk comments, ‘I grew up on Twelve Acre Farm in the 70s and 80s and have seen flooding like that down Chilbridge Road many times. I remember, my dad taking my brother and I to school on a tractor more than once, because even our LandRover couldn’t get through the flood water. The milkman would leave our milk just up the road on the village side of the little bridge when it flooded. Sometimes the flood water was high for almost a week at a time.’
