Rou formed an independent film production company with twin brother, John, in 1937. Films he produced include British classics such as I'm All Right Jack, Seagulls over Sorrento, Crest of the Wave, The French Mistress, There's a Girl in my Soup, and The Moving Finger. His contribution to British films has only recently been recognised. He received He received the Evening Standard Award for outstanding British films in 1997.
