Neil explains, ‘The unit formed at the start of the war from good Eynsham folk who helped out in and around Oxon in the subsequent years. I know Eynsham builder Harvey Hill was in it, as was my Grandad Phillip Blake who led the group. This picture was taken at the back of Grange Mill in Acre End Street.
‘There is also a picture of my Grandad with a parachute mine dropped near Swinbrook in 1940. The letter the group received is from Oxfordshire County Council thanking them for a decent morning’s work.’
