Thermal Imaging camera training GreenTEA
26 Feb 2025 19:00 - 21:00 at Village Hall (small)

As part of the Community Action Plan for Zero-Carbon Energy, the Low Carbon Hub are holding a Thermal Imaging Training Workshop with Oxfordshire County Council Retrofit Lead, Dale Hoyland.

Dale will demonstrate how to calibrate the camera, how to confidently evaluate the images, and provide advice on how to set up a thermal imaging campaign in your community. There will be advice on funding and resources to help households to install energy saving measures.
A thermal imaging project is a fantastic way of engaging householders in home energy efficiency, by showing them visual evidence of the main areas where their home is losing heat. It can often be the first step to taking action to make our homes warmer and more energy efficient.

Thermal imaging cameras can highlight where there might be insufficient loft and wall insulation, gaps in floorboards, draughts around windows and badly fitted loft hatches, which all allow heat to escape, meaning you need to use more fuel to keep your house warm.

Refreshments will be provided.

Low Carbon Hub has two thermal imaging cameras that can be borrowed by community groups, free of charge, and you can book the cameras on the Low Carbon Hub website here. GreenTEA also has its own camera which has been used for many years in Eynsham - but new team members or groups of residents interested in carrying out surveys in their own and neighbouring homes would be very welcome!
